I was at Yellow Point Lodge for a couple of days this week and what I found really astounding were the numerous shades of grey (no reference to the book!) in the landscape. Looking out at the ocean with low clouds just dusting the tips of the shoreline trees I was itching to get my paints out and try to copy all the tones. My favourite was a medium to dark grey that had almost a purple/mauve hue. But I had to wait till I got back to the studio so today is a grey paint play day.
